Dr. Asad Sadiq, Trustee and Chairman

Dr. Asad Sadiq was born in Hyderabad India. After his professional education he migrated to US and continued his education at NYU and University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ. In 1978 married his Chilean wife, Amina. He has been practicing General Dentistry since 1981 in Mt. Laurel area. My three children benefited from the Blue Ribbon School district of Moorestown and pursued secondary education in DC and Boston. Community service and volunteerism has been his passion from childhood days. He was instrumental in establishing the Imam Zamama Foundation of NJ in late eighties and is a founding trustee of the Foundation. He was appointed President of Shia Association of North America in 1993 and have been serving in that capacity since. He served in the Board of Muslim Foundation Inc from 2006 as Vice Chairman and Chairman for two terms from 2010 thru 2016.

He has been on the Board of Directors of Universal Muslim Association of America, UMAA, since it’s inception in 2002 and served as its President from 2007 thru 2010. Currently he is the Senior Vice President of UMAA. He is also the US liaison for Tanzeem ul Makateb of Lucknow, India. He is one of the founding Trustee members of Sadiq School and serves as its chairman.

Dr Iqbal Hussain Jafri, Trustee and Vice Chairman

Iqbal Hussain Jafri, M.D. Diplomate American Board of PMR , Diplomate American Board of Pain medicine Clinical Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Anesthesiology Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Clinical Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine Seton Hall University. Medical Director and Founding Program Director, Pain Medicine Fellowship, JFK Medical Center. Director Cardiac and Pulmonary JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute.

Dr. Jafri completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is a specialist in Rehab Medicine and Pain Medicine Dr Jafri has lectured both nationally and abroad on topics including, but not limited to, pain medicine, cardiac rehabilitation, and physical medicine. Dr. Jafri also serves as a director of the APPNA Sunday Free Clinic in Muhlenberg Hospital. Dr. Jafri is well-published in numerous works, among which include serving as an co-author of the nationally recognized Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Review book used by residents throughout the country for board certification, as well as his chapter related to pain management in the book “Women with Disabilities: A Comprehensive Guide to Care.” He has also authored numerous abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Aside from healthcare, Dr. Jafri has a keen interest in community service, and has been involved in serving the community. He is currently Vice Chairman and Director of the Board of Trustees of MFI / Masjid-e-Ali in Somerset County, serves as the Director of the Ja’faria School the weekly Sunday school in the community, and is now the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sadiq School. In recognition of his vast community service and leadership, Dr. Jafri received numerous awards, including the special recognition by the NJ Senate and General Assembly Joint Resolution, as well as the Rutgers Faculty Award.

Dr. Alex Kharazi, Ph.D, Trustee and President

Dr. Alex Kharazi received his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1981. He worked in the Chemical industry for over 31 years before retiring in 2013. Dr. Kharazi has an in-depth knowledge of coaching, mentoring and team building skills. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and has served as leader of various multi-functional and global reliability teams. Besides his industrial experience, he has been an adjunct professor at Middlesex Community College and Rutgers University and is an owner of a tutoring business. Dr. Kharazi has broad involvement in serving the community as a volunteer and was chosen as the Franklin Township Man of the Year by the Franklin Reporter in 2017 for his community service. Currently he is President of Razi Health Foundation, Director and Vice President of MFI, Director of facility for Masjid-e-Ali, President of Franklin Township Interfaith Council, Board of Trustee member of Dr. Marin Luther King Foundation, and member of Franklin Township Planning Board.

Dr. Kharazi was the chief administrator of the weekend Islamic school at Masjid-e-Ali for 7 years before dedicating his time to the expansion project which includes building extra parking and Sadiq School. He is one of the founding members of Sadiq School and currently serves as one of its Trustees and its President.

Dr. Abida Jafri, Trustee and Vice President

Dr. Abida Jafri is a physician specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She received her training from Temple University School of Medicine and, since the completion of her training, has been involved in both academic and private practice. She has served in a number of consultant and leadership roles in healthcare, and continues to do so today. Among her roles in the community, Dr. Jafri has been the principal of Ja’faria School of Central Jersey, one of the leading weekly Sunday schools in the tristate area, for more than 10 years. She has a wealth of experience in shaping the academic vision of the institution, curriculum development, administration, management, community engagement, cultivating leadership, and teacher recruitment and training. Under her leadership, Ja’faria School has grown in reputation and population, with more than 200 students in attendance from the tristate area. Her role as principal in Ja’faria School of Central Jersey demonstrates her continuous passion for academic growth in the community, and translates to being a crucial asset to the Sadiq School board, as she provides insight into an effective Islamic education in the school system, and fostering a nurturing educational environment for the student body.

Mahdi Sajjadpour, Trustee and Secretary

Mahdi Sajjadpour holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. He has over 16 years of work related experience in the IT industry in various capacities. Mahdi has been a volunteer within the MFI community since moving to central New Jersey. Mahdi is one of the founding members of Sadiq School and currently serves as its secretary.

Qasim Zaidi, Trustee and Assistant Secretary

Qasim Zaidi graduated from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2004. Since then, he has worked within the pharmaceutical industry as both a strategy consultant and a commercial leader. He is passionate about ensuring that children of the Shia Community in NJ have a safe, Islamic, and an academically rigorous environment in which to grow up and pursue their education. As member of the Sadiq School board, he brings his corporate perspective on how to effectively and efficiently run an institution . As a parent of a pre-kindergartner in the inaugural class at Sadiq School, Qasim brings the parents' perspective in how the school operations and the curriculum should be designed.

Maulana Syed Rizwan Rizvi, Trustee

Syed Rizwan Rizvi started his religious studies in Chicago, Illinois at Imam Ali Seminary where he studied for one year. Thereafter he attended the Islamic Seminary of Qum in 2000 and studied under some of the best and renowned theologians of the Hawzah. After completing general coursework in Arabic literature, Jurisprudence, Quranic Exegesis, Principles of Usul, Kalam and Mantiq, he focused his attention towards Islamic philosophy and during the latter part of his studies on Irfan-e-Islami. Throughout his six years of studies at the Hawzah, he obtained 204 credits and received a Bachelor’s in Theology and Philosophy from Jamiatul Mustafa al-Alamiyyah. Following his studies in Qum he felt the need to improve his fluency in Arabic. In pursuit of this goal, he travelled to Damascus and enrolled in advanced Arabic courses at Damascus University's Arabic Language Institute and completely immersed himself in an Arabic speaking environment. He attained Master’s in Arabic from University of Damascus. Syed Rizwan Rizvi is fluent in Arabic, Persian, Urdu and English. He serves as Religious Director at Muslim Foundation Inc. He is currently pursuing another Master’s Degree in Islamic Studies from ICAS (Middlesex University, UK).

Dr. Aftab Husain M.D, Trustee

Dr. Aftab Husain is an Urologist in private practice in Perth Amboy for 34 yrs. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Urology. He is also a fellow of American College of Surgeons. He completed his Urology residency from UMD-NJ Newark, N.J in 1984. He completed his MBBS from JNMC , A. M. U Aligarh , India. He is the Director of MFI and currently serving as Chairman of the Board.

Dr. Aftab has previously served as Vice President and President of executive committee of MFI.

Monireh Kharazi, Trustee

Sister Monireh Kharazi is a school nurse in Franklin Township. She has worked with school children of all ages for the past 20 years. She has been the school nurse and launch coordinator for the Weekend Islamic school at Masjid-e-Ali for the past 9 years. She is a member of the Executive Committee of Masjid-e-Ali and one of the founding members of Sadiq School. Sister Monireh has a strong commitment to helping Sadiq School succeed.

Mohammad Rahim G. Moghadam , Trustee

Mohammad Rahim G. Moghadam is an accomplished principal engineer working for a major Telecommunications company. He has attained two Masters Degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Rutgers and Montclair Universities.

As a long-time member of the Islamic Society of Central Jersey (ISCJ), he served the community as the Chair and Co-Chair of the Weekend School managing all aspects of providing enlightened Islamic education to over 600 student enrollments per year. He also served as the liaison between Masjid-el-Ali and ISCJ facilitating interfaith collaborations. His sons attended the ISCJ Weekend School, and his grandchildren are currently enrolled in the Masjid-el-Ali Weekend School.

Mr. Moghadam is committed to nurturing Islamic education for our diverse community’s children and elders and Interacting with the larger community.

Asad Rizvi, Trustee

Asad Rizvi is an Attorney associated with the law firm of Fox Rothschild LLP in Morristown, New Jersey where he focuses his practice on Labor and Employment Law. Mr. Rizvi regularly represents businesses and non-profit institutions on matters including, but not limited to, leave of absence, workplace accommodation, complaints of harassment and discrimination, employee discipline, as well as wage and hour compliance. Mr. Rizvi previously served as a Law Clerk to a United States Magistrate Judge in New York and prior to that, served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the New York City Law Department. At the Law Department, Mr. Rizvi routinely represented the Department of Education in various labor and employment and education law matters including teacher performance, discipline, and tenure. Mr. Rizvi has served in various leadership roles in the Muslim community including on the board of directors of the Muslim Bar Association of New York (2012-2013) and the New Jersey Muslim Lawyers Association (2014-2017). Mr. Rizvi received his Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University.
